Brookenby Forward

Brookenby Forward, born from a 'wish list' of actions written by the Parish Council over the winter of 2007, is the development organisation that will take over from the Parish Plan Steering Group to ensure implementation of the Action Plan.  Its aim is to develop Brookenby via an agenda based upon the parish's long-term aspirations as articulated in the Parish Plan and residents’ requests.   

Moving on from these informal meetings of Parish Councillors, a number of concerned residents and outside agencies started to meet on a monthly basis to discuss the needs and aspirations of Brookenby residents; one of which was the need to raise finance to purchase the spare ground running along Lorraine Drive, and then to prepare, and manage, it as a sports field. 

Once the Parish Plan and its Action Plan has been accepted by the Parish Council, it will be the responsibility of Brookenby Forward to take ownership to ensure that these actions, all of which have been suggested by residents of Brookenby, are carried out.  To achieve this, Brookenby Forward members will need volunteers from the village who have specific concerns about conditions within the village and willing to organise themselves into small groups to focus on specific actions.
