LIMELIGHT THEATRE

The Limelight Theatre is situated to the rear of the Community Centre, through the main doors and the foyer.  The theatre group is an amalgamation of the Limelight Theatre Group and the Rasen Amateur Theatrical Society.

The adult section is not so fortunate and is about to launch a recruitment drive over the next couple of months.

Since the group started at Brookenby 4 years ago, it has managed 4 pantomimes, 2 comedy plays, 3 junior presentations and a number of variety shows.  In addition, it has also organized a 'Battle of the Bands', a VE Day celebration and a folk evening.

FUTURE ACTIVITIES

The Boadbent Singers & Lindsey Rural Players in conjunction with RATS are pleased to present a short celebration of the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II at the Limelight Theatre on Saturday 22nd May 2010 at 7.30pm.

The full programme is still under discussion but will include songs from the era with relevant music and poems and will feature the one act play 'Always' which is a reflection on letters exchanged during the war between a popular actress of the day and her soldier husband on the front line. This piece will then be entered into a festival of drama at the Embassy Theatre, Skegness the following week.

Tickets will be moderately priced at just £2 to cover costs and we hope to see a good attendance.

The full theatre group is also now rehearsing its next production - a musical called 'OLIVIA' (a little like a female version of Oliver) which we hope to stage during mid July - full details to follow.
