This is your page to let other members of the village know what events you are planning to organize and any details of those events.  Whilst there is also a  'Community Newsletter' that is produced by the Church, this 'Village News' is an adjunct for those of us who perhaps regard the 'Community News' to be focussed only on church matters and therefore do not give it the attention it deserves.

Details of any event can be passed by e-mail (preferably) to: webmaster@brookenby.org.uk.  If you must chop trees down, I am also able to accept hard copy at 4 York Road.  Just pop it through the letter box.

Dog fouling:

It has become noticeable that some dog owners are not collecting their dogs' turds as required by WLDC Bye Laws.  This has become more obvious on the Village Green now that it is being used for football on a Saturday morning.  Dog owners must be aware that leaving the mess behind without picking it up can cause serious health problems to children.  Remember that allowing your dog to foul the areas around Brookenby is an offence under the 1996 Act as promulgated on the relevant notices posted around the village.

Grass Areas around Brookenby:

It has become very obvious that a number of cars and quad and trials bikes are being driven across the grassy areas around Brookenby. The Parish Council has asked that all residents who see such incidents contact Market Rasen Police Station with descriptions of the cars and their registration numbers.  Such behaviour is regarded as vandalism.

Litter bins:

Would residents of Brookenby please remember that the dog litter bins are not receptacles for any form of household waste, only dog excreta - not even cat or human excreta.

Library

The Library bus will be visiting Brookenby on a Wednesday every 4 weeks. It will be parked in the car park outside Brookenby Community Centre from 2.15 pm till 2.45pm.

Please come along and support this valuable service.   If we do not use it we may lose it. As well as the book facility there is a leaflet rack with useful information about other facilities available and forthcoming activities and events in our area.
